About Me, Amira
My name is Amira Kazeminy. I’m 21 years old, and I was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I'm currently attending the University of Miami. I am an avid diver, with an advanced open water certification and a specialty in fish identification. I’m also a certified underwater naturalist, and am committed to the conservation of our natural resources, especially our marine ecosystems, which depend on sharks. In 2015, it came to my attention that the number of sharks was rapidly depleting around the world, I decided to found this organization in order to work toward advocating for and conserving our shark populations. I am confident that through passion and dedication, we will be able to reverse the deleterious impacts of overfishing and shark finning.
